The Scott Cooper DuoBluegrass Guitar Duo Scott Cooper and Jim Lewin are veterans of the Bay Area music scene with credits as long as anyone. The duo performs a mix of original and cover tunes from bluegrass, rock, country and Americana. Cooper and Lewin have been playing music together on and off for over 20 years, including a recent engagement for the Grateful Dead's Archives. Cooper is well-known as a multi-instrumentalist who plays drums, bass and guitar. Cooper's recent CD "A Leg Trick" reached #5 on the national jam band radio charts. Lewin is a hot-shot guitar slinger who cut his teeth playing bluegrass with California stalwarts the Harmony Grits. A busy touring schedule with jam band Great American Taxi keeps Lewin on the road for most of the year. Jim's dexterity and breadth of chops is simply awe-inspiring. |

Tom DuarteFlamenco Guitar Duarte's musical style is firmly based in traditional Latin music, while referencing elements of funk and jazz fusion. His playing reflects a true sense of the gypsy spirit. In his solo acoustic playing, as well as in his searing electric solos, he plays with a passion that equally captivates the listener. Duarte began playing guitar at age 12. His innovation and curiosity led him to classical music and jazz during high school. After leaving school, Duarte began to work professionally, playing R&B, funk, and other styles, touring and playing session dates. He has lived in England, and performed there and throughout Europe. He has also toured with ex-Jerry Garcia keyboardist Merl Saunders, and played on recordings with ex-Santana/Journey keyboardist/vocalist Gregg Rolie. |
